Objectives
The objective is to provide students with a sophisticated educational experience comprising the cutting edge of Evidenced-Backed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and
Transactional Analysis, as originally conceived by Dr. Eric Berne. Efforts will be made to complement and interdigitate clinical and theoretical seminars with each other.
Structure
Starting January 2012 the Basic (Level I) program is scheduled for Tuesday evenings 7-10pm at WANT Institute offices (The Lido Building), 3355 Via Lido, Suite 205, Newport Beach, CA 92663. The Advanced (Level II) program will be conducted Thursday evenings 7-10pm at St. Mary Medical Center, The John Parr
Building, 1055 Linden Ave., Long Beach, CA 90813. Basic first-year sessions consist of essential aspects of ASR and TA and provide a comprehensive education for those intending to pursue a career as a coach or clinician. Advanced second-year classes are recommended for Licensed Mental Health Care Professionals and Nurses, and first-year graduates desiring to further their understanding of personality development, human communication throughout the life cycle and behavioral aberrations in further depth.
In addition to the series of 33 Tuesday evening seminars for each Level, one Saturday per month will be scheduled for case consultations and practice of the application of the principles (i.e., Practicums). All students and graduates are welcome to observe these sessions at no charge. Any students wishing elective individual consultations or professional supervision, in addition to the Saturday group consultations, will have such service available to them with fees to be set in accordance with what is affordable. Note: Not all applicants will necessarily qualify for certification.
